Children’s Book Review column focuses on poetry
Schools, libraries, book stores, publishers and poets observe this time with special displays, writing contests and publications.
In this review, the Asheville Citizen-Times focuses on some books for children that are poems. The first one is based on a Langston Hughes poem, “I Too, Am America.” The second book is a collection of poems written by children about New York City.
Poetry is one of my favorite forms of writing, and a very valuable and effective method of communication.
